If you are trying to intentionally maim ( eg studs to anything) someone, you are a *insert female equivalent of cocksucker here*.
That does not seem like the case. It is like any other team sport. You look out for your own within reason. Hard fouls that won't seriously hurt someone are acceptable, imo
ETA: If the coach knows what they are doing, they will penalize the player for doing something stupid. If the coach didn't say anything, probably not a big deal
