30,000 people showed up. Apparently Pep was very instrumental in his choosing of Fio, Mario said it was always Italy or Spain and Pep very highly recommended Fiorentina.

Also KHR addressed the Shaq rumors today- he's not for sale.

The meltdowns on soccer forums are pretty entertaining.

that´s pretty funny. I understand his camp is in talks with Barça, as well.

CE has rejected an offer from Leverkusen. Pretty happy about that. They'd be super dangerous with him.

for a young player that has been hyped for a long time, it's kinda crazy he's not made a move these past three years.

Nah, forums of their most controversial fanzine.

RedCafe has been pretty entertaining too, though. They had a huge Thiago thread going on.

Emanuele Giaccherini completed his move to Sunderland. Awesome for Jozy.

I'm not sure what his deal is, turnin down Leverkusen was decently surprising. They are favorites for champions league every year and easily have one of the best collections of youth talent in Germany. They are set up really well, they are one of the few clubs not owned by fans, so their match day atmosphere is a considerable downgrade from the other Bundesliga clubs, but I would've been really excited about that move. He is either really happy at Ajax or he has a bit of an inflated view of his talents. He has to be kind of embarrassed/humbled after making it known he wanted to go to BVB then they told him he wasn't good enough.

Oliver is only 18. I´m going on my take from seeing him interviewed, but he doesn´t look like the type to leave the country.

He also has that gypsy Rafa Nadal look going on, so I could see his little arse makin´the limey wimmenz swoon, if he decides to leave.

Seriously, he looks like someone who won´t bolt, at least for now.

He still isn´t a regular in Atlético´s starting 11. Maybe in a year or two.

yeah it's just buzz so probably won't happen. a fairly decently reliable Arsenal insider/tweeter said we were interested. likely won't come to anything.

santi, cesc, jose antonio reyes (who never should have left, though i understand wanting to go back to spain)...we've had pretty good luck with Spanish attacking players.

Manuel Almunia though...

SIAP. Negredo just left Sevilla´s preseason camp. It´s rumored he´s on his way to Manchester, to sign with City. €25M.

this has been a fantastic summer for City. I don't see how they will comply with FFP, but whatever. still great. fernandinho, navas, negredo and jovetic looking like he's headed there too...all different makers for a team that is a year removed from a title. frick. they have to be favorites at this point (though still lots of time for others to buy)

jens was prone to gaffes, but he was class, otherwise. much better than Manuel. don't forget he was our GK for every match in the Invincibles season.

There isn't anything wrong with him, I just like teasing him. He does a lot of broadcasting in Germany and is actually pretty damn good.
