Liberals calling for National Divorce seem confused
Posted by PizzaPie on 9/17/21 at 9:38 am
How is that they don't know that what they really are asking for is simply state sovereignty?
Think about it. A national "divorce" would simply involve states going their own way based on some splits in ideology.
Well hell. We already have that in our basic structure. It's the left that forced this marriage. Most of us never wanted to be "married"
We could achieve 90% of the aims of both liberals and conservatives who want a divorce simply by reiterating the primacy of the 10th Amendment.
And let's face it, there's no such thing as reaching 100% of that goal. Even a civil war ending in a complete split of the nation would result in unhappy people within the boarders of each separate nation.
Go back to having very independent states and let people vote with their feet. If everyone in California wants to go borderline communist, who am I to stop them? I just ask that they leave me and my state alone.
