June Chu, the former dean of Pierson College, one of Yale’s residential colleges, called people “white trash” and “low class” in her reviews of New Haven dining and other establishments, prompting backlash from students and Yale’s administration.
Chu was previously placed on leave after school officials became aware of the derogatory comments, the Yale Daily News reported.
The head of Pierson College, Stephen Davis, told students in an email Tuesday that Chu had left her position, and that the school was working to replace her, the Yale Daily News reported.
