will the lack of total federal involvement increase participation in local elections?

Trumps delegation to states has put the spotlight on local leaders. He’s empowered governors and mayors to make decisions, whether good or bad. My question is does the electorate know who is actually making decisions on our current corona policies and will this make the average American actually think twice on who they vote for in elections other than the presidential one.

If Trump open the economy back up too early, he will lose the election. Whether or not the posters on here decide to believe this or not is beyond me, there are conservatives who are absolutely irate at the response, I live in an incredibly deep red part of the country, these people are wondering if they will vote for Trump, or not at all.

Not to be a dick but your response has nothing to do with the question I asked.

People know who are making the decisions, they also know that Trump can overwrite those decisions, look at DeSantis, he put all the blame on Trump.

One of the reasons I ask is because my gf lives in Los Angeles and has been on lockdown for a few weeks. She normally fricking loathes trump but hasn’t said anything about him in weeks. But rather just disagrees with what is happening in LA. She keeps herself well informed and votes in all local elections so can’t judge average america off her.

Gavin Newsom called for that lockdown, if she attributes that decision to Trump, more power to her.

Says the sky screamer.

That’s my point. Does the average American say their local government did this or trump

Ah, my bad I see now. At the end this will all fall on Trump, good or bad, I personally think he comes out of this relatively unscathed

Regardless if people vote blue or red i hope this means more people educate themselves on local politics. Stop watching 24 hour news stations and pay attention whats going on locally. Hospitals are saying they weren’t expecting something like this to happen and weren’t prepared. How’s that the problem at the federal level

I'm not sure what you're asking, states are in a bidding war for ventilators, at what point should the federal government be involved?
Posted on 4/7/20 at 1:21 am to Tunasntigers92
Aren’t they bidding for ventilators owned by companies from different nations? Federal government shouldn’t step in now. They should have not allowed ourselves to rely on other countries prior.

Where do you think the numberS were coming from

I’ll talk about this in another topic if it comes up. Sorry it’s gone off topic now. Hope you understand.

The unwashed masses just aren't that informed.
They listen to MSM or buddy at the water cooler both of which leaves them ignorant.
