I don’t think these hearings moved the needle for the Democrats and a trial in the Senate will not go well for them (and their leadership knows it). At this point, they’ll get the same mileage out of a “censure” vote as they would a vote to impeach, but without the risk of exposure in the Senate.

I don't think so. They will push this into next year and then say, "just let the election solve it" of which they will lose. The only way I see this changing is if the courts force Bolton, Mculvaney (SP?, pompeo and Guilliani to testify and they shite the bed.

If it moves to the senate it will pull candidates off the trail. Which it seems they would try very hard to make news in the senate trial

I would ALMOST want enough Republicans to vote this over to the Senate just to watch the Democrats squirm in their seats, unable to campaign, stretched out to the end of the primary. Glorious.

That's actually not a bad strategy. The Impeachment inquiry is helping Trump in the polls

Yes they will and they will goose-step to whatever they are dictated to do by Pelosi. Which means 100% of Dims will vote to impeach.

I think it's obvious that the Impeachment has been a losing proposition so far for the Dims, and that's with them hobbling the Republicans with all their sick BS. If they were winning the battle in the polls than I would, say maybe go to the Senate and even then I would seriously hesitate. But it's not going their way so it's smart to bite the bullet, take your losses, lick your wounds and move on. Nancy has got to choose where she loses the least amount. Censure will be her choice.
