Why wasn't a transcript kept for Campbell's Uranium One interview?

This doesn't make sense to me. So for starters, the GOP members have denied Democrats access to this guy for months. Schiff and Cummings ask for transcript of the interview that was given yesterday, but Republicans replied that a full transcript wouldn't be kept. Why not?

To be clear Campbell sent a written testimony to three committees, but as far as I understand the interview was not transcripted.

Also, I have never liked the deal that was made. Even if nothing was done illegally or improperly it should've never happened. Additionally, I do think there was some impropriety at the least and possibly illegal action taken. But, for the sake of transparency and bipartisanship, the GOP should've allowed the interview to be transcribed. The only reason I can think of to why it wasn't would be so they could spin it how they wanted for maximum political damage.
