Problem with Trump is that he’s not an extremist, but his rhetoric makes him SEEM that way. So the natural reaction to an extremist is to go the other direction but the left went way further than usual because Trump’s actions aren’t really that extreme. So they DOUBLE overcompensated. Went further left than just a normal back and forth.
As silly as it is, you can’t change the reality that his bullshite, childish rhetoric turned people off so much that he made the democrats way too extreme. Fight it all you want, his rhetoric did this.

it’s the Republicans who have the problem. Trump has singlehandedly carried the party (aside from DeSantis in FL) for an entire decade and I don’t know if they can win without him.
Our only hope is that his second term is so successful that we can ride its coattails.
The Commie wing of the Democrat party scares me way more than the establishment wing because they actually have ideas other than “Trump is Hitler”. Terrible ideas, but something for low IQ people to rally around.

I don't see how this is a problem for the party as a whole though. The radicals on the left were allowed in with Obama, they're now about to take complete control. They sell revenge to people who see themselves as victims of (fill in the blank). It works and will continue to work. Mamdani isn't going to make things better but that's not what his voters wanted, they want him to break their oppressors.
BTW the radicals on the right will take over in 10 years and use the same playbook. Sell revenge to people who see themselves as victims of (fill in the blank).
