SS and Medicare together may total more than entitlements, but not by much. If you split it and look at each as a separate cost, then entitlements are absultely more costly to America than SS and Medicare.
You can’t list them as separate in your initial statement, then use their combined cost to say they’re more expensive.

Keep in mind the last POTUS to give us a surplus was Democrat Bill Clinton...
I love reading this. Go read the constitution and see who is in charge of the pursestrings. He happened to be in the White House when Congress last did their job correctly.
you're both indicative of the ignorance and stupidity of the avg american ...
steve jobs and bill gates and the like are the reason for that surplus ... not your precious politicians ...

Actually, I didn't attribute a cause for the surplus. I simply pointed out that the branch of government in charge of the purse is the legislative branch.

Or like you have your house payment, car payment, college costs, and grocery budget, and you are barely getting by, so you donate half of your paycheck to the millionaire on the hill so he can have more. But you still have to pay your bills, so you max out your credit cards. Then you start selling off grandma’s jewelry. Then you reach peak default and blame democrats for insisting that you increase revenue to a sustainable level.
So ridiculous. The millionaire isn’t getting your money. He’s getting back the same portion of his money back that you are getting. Plus he’s going to employ your jealous broke arse to shine his shoes.

This type of thinking is the dumbest shite ever! You talk out of your arse without even doing any math. There is no sustainable level with our current spending. You would almost have to sell the entire country (land, assets, natural resources, etc.) EVERY YEAR to increase revenue to a sustainable level. Even if you tax the richest 100% of their incomes, you don't make a dent.

SS is our money that is taken for them to "hold" for our retirement"
You can read all you want from 1000 different people...the bottom line is that it is our money, not some program that can be slashed

No, our spending adds to the deficit. Cut spending. Starting with welfare reform.
