Shouldn't that go the other direction since the cops wasted resources by agreeing to go to a kid's home to search for BB guns?

All they had to do is say "nah, that doesnt sound illegal" and move on. Instead they're like "Infringe on peoples' rights? Hell yeah!"

There's way too much "just doing my job" attitudes when we all know they have a ton of discretion.
