Word is starting to heat up that Trump is going to pull Pete off the bench and give him a shot. I am pretty pumped, Hegseth appears to be a very genuine guy that is not from the traditional swamp mold.
The left is already assailing him as an unqualified, 36 year-old Fox and Friends host. I guess my response would be, how can he run the VA any worse than what we have right now? (They are afraid he will privatize it and demonstrate that it can work).

If you want to fix the VA then congress needs to be made to exclusively use its facilities.
But of course they would never vote for that, then didnt even have to be apart of the ACA.
Only way would be a Convention of States and that is doubtful.

first off, GFY. Second, I misspoke I had the name mixed up with someone else. This was the guy that graduated from princeton/harvard and was an infantry officer. I wouldn't hate this.

Really disappointed that Trump will have wasted at least 1.5 years of his time by having appointed Schulkin - after all that talk during the campaign. Unfathomable how he selected a long time VA stooge.
The SES positions within the VA are the most corrupt cohort in the federal govt. There is no reforming the SES system. It must be abolished and all SES people purged or rolled over into non-SES positions.
If anyone ever wonders why they hit a road block on some issue when dealing with the federal govt, it's because of someone in an SES position.
