If you have ever been around a Blackhawk, you know they will only be flyable for a short time without proper maintenance and spare parts. They will make nice ramp ornaments for the Taliban within 3 months.

Even if this is true, why go through the trouble of disabling them when you can just drop in one of the thousands of incendiary devices left behind and walk away?
Maybe they were considering their reuse for the next war…
