Thad is nothing but pork. That is why all the entitled didn't want to lose him. Because heaven forbid Chris might cut down on entitlements. There are plenty of taxpayers who are leaches. I doubt diamdawg has ever earned enough to pay much in taxes, but he damn sure wants his pork and entitlements.
The mindset of "if we don't spend it somebody else will" has gotten us to this point. The baby boomers are/have ruined the country and continue to do so. Hopefully by the time they die off we can salvage something.

all the quality candidates were on the sidelines out of respect.
Early on it was rumored that Thad was going to retire, and several "quality" candidates names were bandied about: Hozeman, Harper, etc... and McDaniel was also part of this speculation.
I don't know McDaniel personally. I didn't vote for him, campaign for him, or give him money. But regardless of whether he was the best or the poorest candidate choice out there, his supporters thought enough of him to get him into a run-off with a sitting US Senator of over 40 years.
And without the "shenanigans" of the political machine that is the Republican Party, McDaniel may well have beat Cochran in the run-off. But we'll never know, will we? Because the votes of earnest supporters were made null and void by those who seek maintain power, no matter what the cost.
And if we, as conservatives, defend this crap as "politics as usual" or tear down McDaniel's right to contest what is assuredly a stolen election, then we really have no right to complain when we get exactly what asked for.

Nothing about McDaniel makes him a quality candidate and he never was considered one. He had good timing, promised a bunch of things he has no ability to do and no history of doing, and locked down the racist vote.
About the only thing he probably could/would do that he promised is go up there and not work with anyone. That takes no effort, experience or skill to do.

The point I was making. You missed it.

I take it you are just regurgitating what granpappy Thad spoon fed you? Chris is a really good guy. He has been drug through the mud, but he's still a good guy and a much better choice than Thad if you want less government in your life, less tax dollars wasted, and so on..
And actually the majority of republicans did choose mcdaniel to represent them. Granpappy just had more republicans and democrats that supported him.
I'll be supporting Childers along with many other conservatives I know. We know what we have in Thad, and he's no better than a democrat.

You bet your arse if a Republican gets elected to the Senate, they would prefer Cochran over McDaniel. They wouldn't like it but they would hate Cochran less than McDaniel.
Do you really believe that these democratic voters got out and voted because they "preferred" Cochran over McDaniel?
The landscape has changed though and Childers probably stands a pretty good chance against whoever the winner of this runoff or future runoff happens to be.

Except it's not shenanigans or illegal. It's the law. I'm republican. I've voted for jonathan lee and tony yarber in the past two mayoral elections in Jackson. Both democrats. There were republicans on the ballot. I didn't vote for them because they stood no chance. Several republicans did the exact same.
I voted for some black democrats because the other black democrats scared the hell out of me. I had the right to pick the lesser of two evils.
McDaniel scared the hell out of blacks. They know a R is going to be in office and they have the right to choose the lesser of two evils.

I said long ago that I thought Thad should have gone home and maybe we could have come up with some viable candidates. I don't particularly care for Cochran. I just like him better than McDaniel and his snake oil.
It's weird how these guys are defending grandpappy Thad just like liberals defend Obozo. I guess when you're getting your welfare you'll defend a politician with your life.

You keep spouting this crap but can't back it up. It's just your opinion obviously since you can't state why they are "leaches".

If Dems thought Childers had any shot, they would have "voted" for McDaniel...(because, as was touted on this board many times)...Childers has no shot against Cochran.
But they didn't, did they. Makes one wonder, doesn't it? I mean, the DNC must know they are in danger of losing the Senate. And here is this low-hanging fruit (McDaniel), ripe for the picking. But, nah..., let's "support" the guy who we know we can't beat.
But you keep telling yourself that Cochran is a good, conservative work-horse for the state of Mississippi.
I got 20 acres in Jones Co. Make you a deal.

Unethical. Which is why most states have closed primaries.

Uh oh gran pappy, the NAACP has come calling, better pay up.
NAACP tell granpappy to PAY UP
It has been estimated that 98% of blacks in MS consider themselves democrat
quote:
Black voters were essential in helping Cochran win a runoff election against McDaniel, who beat Cochran in a June 3 primary but failed to get 50 percent of the vote. In Jefferson County, the county with the largest percentage of eligible black voters in the United States, turnout increased by 92 percent from June 3, The New York Times reported. In Hinds County, which is 70 percent African-American, Cochran beat McDaniel by fewer than 6,000 votes on June 3, but won by a margin of more than 11,000 votes, NBC News reported.

I would bet my balls I've mad more in the six months of this year than you've made in any 5 years of your "career" (not sure if welfare is considered a career by you?).
But hey, granpappy is gone keep that money flowin for you right leach?

If Thad had won without Barbours bull shite I would have voted down the line come nov. I will never vote for anyone involved with encouraging crossover voting in a runoff. That is a dirty underhanded method of rigging an election in my own opinion. I am not arguing the positions or competance of either man. The rep. party had no business overriding the wishes of the republican voters. Couple this with the man not even planning to serve his term and I and most people I talk to are really unhappy with our state rep. party.
Agreed!

I think you are right. He sure likes to spout even though he can't factually support it.
Posted on 6/29/14 at 5:21 pm to Rebman601
Better be careful Rebman with your bets, you may end up a eunuch. A eunuch that can't back anything up with facts. It's okay to have opinions (unfounded as they may be), just don't hold them out as facts.

So baby boomers arent breaking the country? There is a reason most consider baby boomers by far the worst generation.
