Shocker: Trump is a massive blowhard who spews whatever bullshite he thinks will help him at the time.
The problem with it when he does it is what he says is usually rooted in a lot of truth but he stretches the truth often, which is what the media latches onto and that results in his image as a liar on the left being reinforced. The right takes what he says, ignores the stretched truths, focuses on what he based his comments on (which is usually mostly true) and looks at the left like they're retarded for not believing him (they are retarded).
The cycle continues, which results in the MAGA base being energized, and that's what Trump needs.
Midterms are coming up and it's going to be interesting either way.

If the WH’s strategy for the mid terms was just a speech I would agree with you; however, I highly doubt that this was just a rah-rah event. They’ve had waaay too much time to plan their strategy for that to be the only drop. Pointing case, New Jersey’s illegal voting numbers have exploded to over 35,000 and the software company just stated that there was no “glitch”. I believe the speech was an intro into quite a few of these major stories all summer and fall. However, if the speech was the entire plan to bring some momentum it was definitely a dud.
