Interesting Bondi Beach and Brown coverage

Almost all US news sites top 5-10 articles are on the Bondi Beach shooting and the Brown shooting first article is now down mid page in their home page.
They are both terrible acts but curious why an American Ivy League school shooting that killed 2 is secondary news to a shooting in Australia?
Why?

I’m guessing that, for now, the Australian government has already announced that it’s terrorism specifically targeting Jews on the 1st day of Hanukkah while no info has been released about Brown’s suspect or motivation. I mean, that’s pretty big news and will get covered.
