How does any witness thus far get around a basic hearsay or speculation objection?

If the Senate holds that the Code of Procedure is in effect, then there seriously is no evidence whatsoever for the Senate to consider. John Roberts isn't going to allow Sondeman to speculate...or anybody else to talk about what somebody told them. This whole thing is baffling to me.

Non-speculative testimony/evidence which can be considered-

- the Transcript, which was verified by Vindman, with minor non-material omissions, to be accurate.

- Sondland's testimony regarding Trump's response to direct question as to what did he want from Ukraine: I want nothing. No quid pro quo. Tell Z to do the right thing.

- All witnesses who verified that Biden-Burisma issue at least raised the appearance of a conflict of interest

- Fact testimony as to the sequence of events, such as timing of when the aid was released
