re: Have you ever been stopped by an unmarked police car?

My only encounter with the Police was in an unmarked car. I was a freshmen in college and me and my fellow teammate flew down to West Palm Beach Florida for a 3 day “break” we got during the schools Spring Break. First night in WPB we were walking on a cobble stone walking mall area that we assumed was closed off to car traffic.... a dark SUV rolls past me and my buddy very slowly at a very close distance to us(buzzed us, so to say) and my buddy yelled something at them as they passed. At this point we didn’t know it was cops but as soon as they heard him the break lights illuminate and 4 cops get out. My buddy takes off running and I froze in place. Lol they handcuffed me to a nearby bench and about 5 minutes my buddy comes walking back with 2 of the officers after they cornered him in an ally. They ended up sitting us on the park bench for about 10 minutes and questioned us. They let us go when they found out we weren’t carrying drugs or weapons.

I asked him after why he ran in the first place and he told me he didn’t even realize they were cops until they apprehended him. Thought we were about to get jumped by a car full of guys.

We were totally sober. Had just arrived that same evening. Lol. We laugh about it now but at the time we were scared shittless.
