The middle class votes...The middle class has power in schools systems as it is involved with its children's school/education...The middle class owns land, businesses and is an example of the American dream that people come from around the world to experience.
Destroy the middle class, and someone gets to indoctrinate their kids for new foot soldiers, someone then gets the wealth/land they have, someone gets the xtra business traffic when their small business is destroyed, someone will get to steal their votes and the middle class will have no money or power to fight the govt that is destroying them.
