re: Flynn thing is classic fake news. Big headline, but nothing there.

The guilty plea is real news. What's fake is the news that he is going to testify that Trump directed him to contact Russians, which is purposefully misleading.

Statement by Robert Kelner Counsel to Lt. General Mike Flynn (Retired)
General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit.
Out of respect for the Committees, we will not comment right now on the details of discussions between counsel for General Flynn and the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, other than to confirm that those discussions have taken place. But it is important to acknowledge the circumstances in which those discussions are occurring.
General Flynn is a highly decorated 33-year veteran of the U.S. Army. He devoted most of his life to serving his country, spending many years away from his family fighting this nation’s battles around the world. He was awarded four Bronze Stars for actions in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere in the war on terror. He received the Legion of Merit twice, and the Defense Superior Service Medal four times. He is a recipient of the Defense Department’s Distinguished Service Award and the Intelligence Community Gold Seal Medallion for Distinguished Service, as well as numerous other decorations.
Notwithstanding his life of national service, the media are awash with unfounded allegations, outrageous claims of treason, and vicious innuendo directed against him. He is now the target of unsubstantiated public demands by Members of Congress and other political critics that he be criminally investigated. No reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution. I think Flynn probably knows his guilty plea is not #fakenews.

Again, the guilty plea is real news. What is fake is the reports about the substance of his teatimony.

Please explain, in your own words, what this Flynn plea deal means for those trying to prove Trump conspired with the Russian government to subvert the US election and win him votes.
Posted on 12/1/17 at 12:11 pm to LSUTigersVCURams
So let me get this straight- Several people close to trump and his campaign have lied. Under Oath. To the FBI, and to Congress- about their meetings with Russian officials. And you really believe that has absolutely nothing to do with trump or the election?
I want some of whatever youre smoking.

Oh dear. Another one lost in TrumpLand.
Take just a minute, dear LSUTigersVCURams, and consider, Mueller and company threw the proverbial legal book at Manafort and Gates. If you haven't taken the time, look at the Manafort and Gates indictments. It's a lot for those guys to defend.
Then, take a look at what Mueller charged Popadapalous and Flynn with: one count of lying.
If you are dreaming that this is over, you're ignoring he basic rules of federal prosecution. Mueller has told Flynn in effect, cooperate and we'll accept your guilty plea on one count. Don't cooperate and we give you the same full court press that Manafort and Gates are receiving.
You have to have high confidence in your innocence and very deep pockets of cash (for all the lawyers you'll need) to say No to Mueller's offer.
So, what does Flynn have? He's got something on someone in the present White House.
Just wait and watch.

And here’s what MegaAnon said about Manafort versus Flynn (how they are VERY different)
QUOTE:
Here’s the deal with Manafort. He’s no different than his old partner Stone, except he doesn’t sell himself out on social media, he just sells himself out to anyone still willing to pay him and keep him relevant, regardless of party ties/affiliations.
Manafort and people like him (lots in DC) care far less about who they work for and with, than they do about the hundreds of thousands they’ll earn from whoever’s looking for their services.
Manafort stepped in his OWN shite and didn’t care about it until he REALIZED he had to. He tried to buddy up tobtge admin and yes, he was brought on, but ONLY to serve a purpose.
Flynn doesn’t care about people like Manafort really being around DC. Begging for contracts like ambulance chasing lawyers. Alternatively, Manafort would do anything to get people like Flynn to care about him, so that should tell you enough about both.
The only thing that ties these two together is that they both worked for Obama, both worked for Trump and BOTH have a to say about it. The only DIFFERENCE they share in those ties, is that Flynn is doing it so the TRUTH can prevail, even if he had to take it on the chin publicly for a little while and resign/face indictments over it and Manafort is doing it because honestly, it’s just another shady deal he made, like all the shady deals he’s made, selling out people to cover his arse if and when he’s ever needed it, including today.
I know it sucks thinking guilty, shady people like Manafort, Comey, Mueller, Awan, Lerner, etc. won’t be sentenced or served the time they deserve, but if you knew how bad it really was here, you’d be willing to sacrifice on exchange for the big names and their networks.
Trust me, even I’m ok with Comey, Mueller, Lerner, etc. don’t get me wrong they’ll pay in many ways, but not as big as we’d expect. Sadly, you still need a little cooperation and help to force the swamp to drain itself.

The boa constrictor is starting to tighten around Trump. Kushner and Donnie Jr. Are next. Mueller is a bad arse, and Trymp is freaking.
