Who cares what the number of regulations are?
The fact that your initial response to more regs is "who gives a crap" is what I have a problem w/. Because of that kind of common attitude in this country, businesses are getting squeezed like crazy.

Sounds like you need to hire someone to help you with your red tape. If its truly that burdensome - your competitors are probably doing the same thing.
The big boys in my industry can afford to hire full time CPOs (certified pest control operators) in order to open new offices.
Why shouldn't I be able to hire the person of my choosing on a part time basis to grow a new location? In the end, I'm responsible anyway.
Dumb fricking regs are the reason I currently cannot do it. Regs that guys like you don't "give a crap about".
I don't know you personally, obviously, and don't mean to be a dick, but it sure would be nice if you had to experience some of these idiotic regs and red tape for yourself. Maybe then your initial response wouldn't be basically "oh well" to an ever expanding regulatory state.

Great. I'm glad we'd established this is a you problem and nothing I have to deal with.

I have no idea what you're talking about.
You'll have to slow down and explain things more, if you actually want me to understand.
BTW - would it helped if we took all the regulations that affected you, and made them into one, really big regulation? That would cut down on the number of regulations you'd have to deal with.

I have a problem w/ your worldview...isn't that why we discuss things here to begin w/?
Ok, I own a pest control company. I would LOVE to expand to Orlando. The problem is, each new location MUST have a different CPO "in charge" of each office...and they MUST be hired full time. This is an incredible expense, and it's meant to keep small guys like me from expanding.
The government's line is that it's for "safety" reasons, but that is a complete load of bullshite. 1) I'm only going to hire someone I trust. 2)No matter what, any issues will fall in my lap, REGARDLESS of who's "in charge" of the office
All I want to do is hire someone part time and slowly, but surely grow my company there...just like I did here in SW Fla. But I can't, unless I hire who and how "they" want me to hire. If I don't, then I'm a "criminal".

I don't think I've told you my "worldview".

Which government is doing this? What exactly does a CPO do?

When your knee jerk reaction to more regs is "who gives a crap", it says A LOT about your worldview. When government grows, you don't seem to care much. Also, I read this board nearly everyday and am familiar w/ your posts.
A CPO is supposed to be there in order to make sure the proper equipment and treating techniques are being used. It's pest control, so it's not that difficult at all.
BTW, just want to say thanks for posting here. It would be boring as hell w/o people like you ("like you" meaning "not libertarians") here posting. Good to get "the other side's" arguments from time to time.

I've explained the comment refers specifically to the absurdity of counting numbers of regulations. If you'd prefer to be emotional and irrational and apply that one reply to a very narrow point to my entire "worldview" - that is your problem. (I thought we had already established it was a you problem, haven't we?)

I'm not the "other side".
