It was Iran's money to begin with. It wasn't like Obama was sending them cash straight from the treasury vaults. So what you are presenting is not a fact.

It wasn't a we "owed" them thing. They had billions frozen due to various sanctions. Once those sanctions are lifted, the funds plus interest is processed to the owner. This is how all US economic sanctions work.

This is really what it all boils down to. When Trump pulled out of the JCPOA, there was literally 0 evidence that Iran wasn't complying (and actually by all accounts they were complying).
One could argue the efficacy of the JCPOA to keep Iran from developing nukes, but I never did understand how pulling out of the JCPOA was a better/more effective option.

You act like the US doesn't do the same type of thing with other countries that have less than stellar records on human rights and terrorism (e.g., Saudi Arabia)
