No, neocons do not run as neocons because neocons don't win elections. They pretend to be conservatives until they get elected, and then the real agenda hits.
They'll ruin the reputation of real conservatives/republicans and then you'll end up with people like Clinton and Obama.
It's happened 3 times in my lifetime. Although I give Reagan somewhat of a pass since he had Bush thrown on him and didn't really change until they tried to kill him. Still I'd love to have rather had 1976 Reagan.
