100 American troops on the ground related to Israel/Iran?

I caught the back end of a report on Fox this morning where they were mentioning that we have 100 troops on the ground who are in harm's way. What's this about?
Have I been under a rock or is this new?

Reported on NPR this morning (no link yet). Anti-missile defense system and the team to operate it. Justification is Iran. Not sure why this is needed more than their Iron Dome; presumably a bigger missile requires bigger defense.

Ah makes sense. Hopefully this isn't the start of a significant escalation as it could go south quickly. One or two gets killed in an attack targeted at them specifically and the fuse gets lit.
