79 scholarship players to end this past season. We lost 9 scholarship SRs. Also, Peterson, Ridley, Calhoun, Worle, Tolliver, Theriot, St. Julien have left for total of 16 putting us at 63 scholly guys. The self imposed sanctions for overall scholarship counters were retroactively enforced according to NCAA ruling on 7/19/11, so we can have a full 85 man roster.

Underclassmen attrition:

Patrick Peterson - Draft
Stevan Ridley - Draft
Drayton Calhoun
Brandon Worle
Kellen Theriot - Medical Hardship
Chris Tolliver - Medical Hardship
Ryan St. Julien - Medical Hardship

We took 24 players for the incoming class which includes Cam Fordham. With the scholly restrictions only 23 can enroll. Alonzo Lewis did not qualify and is headed to JUCO. Mickey Johnson is still awaiting NCAA clearance and may join the team when cleared or take a greyshirt. Alex Russian will not be on scholarship this year which frees up a scolly if Johnson qualifies.

That brings us to 84 scholly guys as of now. So we are officially: -1

FWIW I have read where Johns is doing pretty well. I was wondering about St' Julien I thought he would have seen more time

He's no less likely than anybody else imo. 2 years in the system, not sniffing the 2 deep, barely even playing in garbage time, behind players the same age

He's behind all the guys we have currently. Freak and Jernigan will pass him up, Ego will be coming off his red-shirt, and if Mickey qualifies, he would have to fight past him as well.

Davenport has had plenty of time to prove himself, and continues to take days off and be lazy

Yeah, I guess you are right, I will still hold out hope that he turns it on though

I honestly thought he would be in the mix for FB this season. But he doesn't even factor in at all. Surprising that he couldn't assert himself at all at a position where we don't really have much

We have a lot more attrition candidates than that, especially on the oline and dline. Davenport is probably the most likely attrition candidate on dline but I think we have more. I think a obvious attrition candidate should also be Chris T. even though he has played a little. I could see him getting a medical with his concussion history.

A full class is definitely possible. If LSU gets some surprises, they will make room for the class. Also, you forgot to add Fordham in this class, so minus Botts we're at 17.

Chris would probably be a candidate. Lots of good young WRs (Boone, Williams, Boone, and Landry and probably OBJ coming in).

I agree. But thats like a group of 10-12 guys that 1 or 2 spots may come from so I didnt feel like listing them. Tolliver has been incorporated decently since he's been healthy but I guess that comes down to him feeling like he could have success somewhere alse. I don't think he will just hang it up medically

Yea, he's included in my 85 count but not my recruiting class count bc I really don't think we sign a full class.

I'm thinking Chris may get a medical hardship

He might not have a choice if he keeps sustaining major concussions.

Well, you can't expect a guy that is currently playing and healthy to be getting a medical hardship

I like Worle as our next big fullback. I really liked his highlight tape out of high school. I can't wait to see what he can do.
