Will provide a few pics later as I just dragged the hand trailer and gear back up.

Fishing with live whiting from the beach hooked up at 5:30 pm with a big fish (most likely a sand bar shark), landed an 8 footer last October but this one might have been even bigger after six major runs, I thought I had it manageable but after muscling it over the second sand bar out it did a loop and the hook popped out.

Sucked up a cold one and rigged on another live whiting. Ten minutes later hooked into another one who while ten folk were watching jumped at the right of the same sandbar and tailed my 50lb braid and snapped it like a straw.

My gear is trashed... And so am I.

What a wonderful afternoon!

You kayaking baits out with conventional gear or slinging it out there with a spinning set up?

I didn’t get any shark fishing in this year. Damn I miss it. We do a mix of big gear/spinning.

My gear is rated for I'd say easily 120 pounds.

The last two days of fishing live baits slung 15feet from shore have been crushed at 5:30 pm.

I have been going out and landing whiting and whatever as bait and keeping it airiated in the big cooler.

Last year Same time bat chanel I landed a 200+ sand bar shark and a 38 lb red bull. All released.

This year my tackle was crushed.

I will have to reevaluate every aspect before coming back.
