Worth trying this time of year? Charter or rent a kayak and fish western lake? Or anywhere else nearby?
TIA
TIA

Last year a guy that went with us chartered a kayak and fished offshore. Sea's were +2 feet and he said he was worn out and beat to shite.

Western Lake in a Kayak would be better than a charter and much cheaper. Maybe take a couple colors of gulp shrimp if you want to throw artificial or get some live shrimp and rig up a popping cork with a 18” leader. Weather should be pleasant and you’ll probably have a more relaxing paddle than near shore.
