I have one that my cousin bought in the early sixties, he would leave it at my parents house during the weekdays and use it on the weekends when he would come up from Baton Rouge. It has killed know telling how many deer. I have had it for 40 years plus, I let my son in law use it to kill his first deer, it scoped his dumb arse but he killed the deer. Never had it jamb on me thankfully, havent used it in about 10 years now because the forearm is split and i cant find one like it, it loves 180 grain remington core-lokt. Mine is the 742 Woodsmaster

I have my dads. It’s heavy as shite and kicks like a mule but I love it. Use it my first hunt every year.

I have restored three in this series. One 742 one 7400 and one pump 7600. Biggest thing is chamber clean (not just remoil - strip and clean thoroughly). ejector response another big variable in the jams.
