Old hickory Anybody has a set they were past down from my grandfather. I put a edge on these bad boys they are like razors

I have one that belonged to my great grandmother. I never met her but my mom always says it was her "watermelon knife". It is now mine and I use it for lots of stuff. Great knives.

I've got one stuck in a tree in the Atchafalaya Basin...

my brother used it and left it there about 30 years ago...

went back several times to fish the same area and never found it...

They are easy to sharpen but do not hold an edge long. I have several and use them almost every day in the kitchen. I keep an Accusharp in the drawer with them.

Bought an old hickory meat cleaver in July. Haven't used it yet but my camp kitchen is a happier place with it hanging over the stove.

I use the butcher and boning for processing deer. They're carbon steel and get very sharp.
