Not to hijack this thread, but Harry Crews (I’m a big fan) once stayed in a family barn by a pond at my grandmother’s house to write a novel. He and my uncle were close back in the day at the university of Florida, where Crews was the head of the English department. He was a notorious drunk, so my uncle gave him a place to crash on our land in north Louisiana to get him away from Gainesville so he could write his novel.
