How to find land owners?

I wanna look into finding land owners in the Baton Rouge area (Within 2 hours). There are tons of rural areas I wanna see if I can find someone with land that wouldn't mind leasing to us. I know there's an older gentleman (Mr. Evans) in the Shreveport area that has a ton of land and would lease it out to a few people that he knows won't be stupid on it. Anyways does anyone know if there are public records or anything? I apologize for the lack of knowledge and would appreciate any help.

easiest ways are to:
1. go to property, ask closest neighbors
2. go to courthouse, see if there is an easy to read updated plat map.
3. look at tax rolls.
4. get legal descriptions, and go back through vendor records... this gets kinda complicated if you dont know how to do it... Use first 3 steps, if possible.

The county's tax office. It's public record, so you can just ask for it. They'll probably make you look. Some of the better ran county's now have it to where you can look online through their website. It's pretty easy if you've ever used GIS.

#1 above is probably the easiest route.

Most counties have the info online through the county revenue office. If you know the address or close to it, the owners infor is listed on the parcel.
