If you ain't ever caught a tank spot Lanier and even Allatoona in Atlanta, or just north of Atlanta, is FANTASTIC. Lanier is better and there are more guides but Allatoona can be almost as good if someone knows what they are doing. They catch some MONSTER spots in both.
Putting 100 spots in the boat right now is child's play at Lake Russell, about 90 miles north of Augusta. I do not know if there are any guides at Russell but it is LOADED with spots and as many people as can get there and catch them need to...they are decimating the largemouth population (but making for some MASSIVE stripers).
Oconee and Sinclair about 90 minutes west of Augusta are both excellent LM lakes and there are some guides who still fish for LM on both.
West Point and Eufalla on the Alabama line are the same.
A man couldn't fish every day of a long storied life in the state of Alabama and hit 1/10th of the largemouth water that will shame anything not in Florida....not counting spots and small mouth.
I don't know much about Mississippi but I 'spect it is similar to Alabama. Alabama is sort of special though for LMs. We got 'em in Georgia also but they are smarter east of the Chattahoochee somehow....
