OP

buy a digital battery meter to install on the cart. this will let you know when your batts are gettin low.

clean post and check water once a month [distilled]
and they should last 5-6yrs

when you have to replace them look at gell batterys.
they last 10yrs and go 50miles on a charge instead of 5 yrs and 15miles per charge. they cost abount 30-40% more but last 10yrs and 50miles a charge is nice

OP, Weve had at least 10 carts over 10-15 years and we run them hard (nursery). They get put on charge after every use whether needed or not, and the batteries last forever. IMO I would not worry about running it down to 20%. If you do, what happens when your at 25%, havent charged them and want to use it? Your not gonna have it ready.

Golf cart charging 101? Help.
1. Fix bayonet on your AK
2. Jump up out of your cover
3. Run as fast as you can towards the cart screaming ALaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaLa, fingering off a few rounds as you go.
