Baldona hunts exactly like I do, I use the owl call every few hundred yards hour before sunset, any decent day I will semi locate at least 3 or 4 toms before I stop to set up. Often I will get 2 or 3 toms on one call as the sound travels through the creek beds if conditions are right. The guys I hunt with that really do the owls well, laughing owls etc just use their mouths. A lot of it is in the hand coupling.

My hunts always start off with so much hope and optimism until my bird gets cut of my a hen, hawk, swollen creek, bobcat, or something

I have one made by hadels that is about 40 years old. Will make a bird gobble as good as I have ever seen. Can draw out the last note higher than other calls. They do not produce this same call any longer. Do not know how new version sounds
