If we are using airboats, whenever we pull into the bank with trees we will make a circle at the bank with the boat. This is to blow those damn wasp out of there. If you pull into one of those dinner plate size wasp nest with no reverse on your boat, you are going to regret it.

My dad and I fish a family pond where we keep a 12ft jon on the bank, kind with the bench seats that have a small hole at each top corner where it’s riveted on either side. He and I head down there one afternoon in august, throw the trolling motor and battery on the boat and push off. Cruising across the pond I see the first red wasp come out of the corner of the middle seat, then another, and another. He had just popped the first white can and spilled it when I whipped it back toward the bank and told him get ready to jump off the front. He turns to bitch about my steering and about that time they start pouring out of the hole, and he immediately gets the picture. Had that minn kota in high gear when we hit the bank, somehow neither of us got stung. Happened to have a can of wasp spray in the truck and sent the whole can down the hole, we fished off the bank cause they buzzed the boat til dark.

That's happened to me before. I was face to face with a roast pan size nest on a tree right at the tree line on the bank. By some act of God, I didn't get stung.
