Hearings into the explosion and sinking of the BP-operated oil rig Deepwater Horizon continue on Thursday, but one BP witness will not be testifying.
Coast Guard Capt. Hung Nguyen said Robert Kaluza, BP's well site leader on the Deepwater Horizon, was scheduled to testify but has exercised his 5th Amendment right to not incriminate himself.
Nguyen said Kaluza's attorney informed the Coast Guard he wouldn't be appearing.
The rig exploded April 20 and sank two days later.
