Even if you schedule a trip to that area, how bad is it? Are the beaches closed or anything like that?



I think they just put out signs in Gulf Shores not to swim in the water.

Also, the smell could get overwhelming, although I don't believe it has yet.

Is great. Close enough to Myrtle Beach, yet quiet enough to be away from it all. Also, there are tons of amazing seafood places in Murrells Inlet and great golf all around.

The SC Coast is really awesome. From the Charleston area all the way up to Little River. Just watch out for the Ohioans and West Virginians in Myrtle Beach. They take that place over in the summer.
