Blackface has always been offensive or edgy years ago. When photos are found however of someone 20-50 years ago doing it as a drunken college student, it’s much less offensive.

I am in my mid 40’s. I was a kid when Michael Jackson was at his apex of Thriller. Anyone of my age who acts like they never saw a white kid dress as MJ during Halloween is full of shite.

Google minstrel shows or the looney tunes forbidden episodes (can’t remember the number) that shite was offensive. If it’s funny because it makes you cringe. It is offensive. Now does that mean bugs bunny and Hanna barberra should be outlawed in all forms? Nope that’s what Twitter culture does.

Thanks for this. Reading over the minstrel shows I can see how it is historically racist but it seems like we just jump the gun to call anything racist right now.
