Could be ringworm or a staph infection. With staph infections they can get circular focal spots like that that can have a whitish flaky skin around the edges. If its staph, usually pretty easy to treat with a course of antibiotics.

My pup had mange and it looked like that. We had a topical ointment that we applied 2x/day and it went away in a couple of weeks

So, she's mange free. It's either a bacterial infection or ringworm.

you're lucky. Looks like red mite mange. They can manage it, but never completely get rid of it.
