Shortly after the launch of Super Heavy Booster 7 & Starship 24... Starship 25 was moved out to the suborbital launch pad (work on the orbital launch pad is obviously still underway after Booster 7 dug a hole to China under it) to begin its testing phase and SpaceX announced the next pair to eventually fly will be Starship 25 on top of Super Heavy Booster 9

Well... at noon today... SpaceX will shut down the highway which runs along the Starship testing facility for what is expected to be the 1st phases of the testing stage for Starship 25.

The road closure runs from noon to midnight... however... apparently an overpressure notice has NOT gone out... so whatever testing might be done tonight is NOT expected to include starting up any of Starship's 6 engines.

But... with Starship 25's testing phase starting... it's another positive step for SpaceX to continue with the lessons learned from the 1st integrated test flight.

Not posting any video links b/c as I said... there's not expected to be any type of engine ignition... so the video won't be all that great... maybe they'll just fill the tanks and then empty them... but not sure. Point being... fireball not expected... at most a frosty Starship is all.

However... a static fire test (engines lit for a few seconds) is expected to happen within the coming days.

As for Super Heavy Booster 9... that will have to wait until the work on the orbital launch mount (OLM) is finished to start its testing since all booster testing happens on the OLM

Fascinating developments.

I wonder if the direction of evermore engines to make a more powerful rocket is always the right way. Seems that some assembly in space might be a better way to build for a Mars mission especially since so much of the rockets are reusable.

With workers still leaving the pad... it looks like the 1st test of the day is done

The flaps were tested to make sure they could be moved as needed

Boca Chica Beach officially closed

Looks like whatever test is scheduled for today should be starting here in a bit

Looks like a spin prime test is scheduled for today

So they will fill up the Starship 25's tanks... then turn on the turbopumps to let the gas flow to the engines... but will not ignite the gas

So a lot of white clouds coming out of the engines is today's big visual... unless something goes wrong

the spin prime test was aborted just as the ship appeared to be entering engine chill

the highway next to the production currently remains closed meaning SpaceX can still restart the test... they have until midnight which is when the road closure is currently set to end... though the road could open sooner if SpaceX has decided to not try again tonight
