My barrel tile roof destroyed a bunch of panels on my neighbors roof back in 2004 Francis. They are major projectiles in Cat 2 winds

Kind of refreshing to have a thread like this with good info and not a bunch of monkeys slinging shite.

IDK the day crew is usually a little more tame. The evening crew might be here shortly to shite post this thing up.

Which is dumb if true.

You sound like a complete idiot

Let me type slowly so you and the others can keep up…having solar panels that can’t work when the power goes down is dumb. I’m not arguing against how electricity works, just saying that my neighbor’s setup is dumb.

Are you my neighbor by chance? Bc you seem dumb too.

The neighbor is too cheap to have a switch that isolates the grid.

The subsidy doesn't pay for the switch. I have neighbors who have solar and have no power during any outage of which is fairly often in Southdowns. Also with the tax credits it doesn't pay to have them and that came from a liberal professor

I was at a small low pressure NG location west of Abilene almost 20 years ago. Cost to connect 10 miles away = lots of copper wire for a metering station. Solar panel easily provided 24VDC for the controls with two lead acid truck batteries. Made perfect economic sense.

Appreciate your comments which clarify a lot for me.

Regardless, even with that the system will still not function even when isolated from a failed grid unless you supply the inverter with a signal to mimic the grid or have storage.

people install solar panels, charge controllers and inverters without storage aka batteries? Seems retarded to be honest. And watch a little YouTube. Planety of people use solar arrays to charge their Tesla's.
