So I have water/hot water in all my sinks and my three other bathrooms except for the bathtub of my main bathroom. Someone told me just keep it open so I've had it open for about 10 minutes but no water yet. I take a shower before bed every night so I hope the water gets flowing by the end of the Seahawks/Lions game.

Is there an issue turning off a neighbors eater at the meter?
I think in many municipalities that's considered tampering with a water meter and illegal.

Still no hot water in the house, no water at all in the kitchen. Have cold water in the bathroom. Leaving hot water faucets open, should have a good thaw tomorrow (Sun).

Take a pair of channellocks and unscrew the aerator from the end of faucet. That screen could have rust knocked loose if plumbing that old.
First thing I did. It was filthy

Also hit that hot water pipe under the vanity with a hair dryer.

My house is pier and beam, about 60 years old, cast iron pipes. I turn the water off and open several faucets when it gets below freezing. I went outside at 1am last night bundled up like the kid in Christmas story to turn the water off and found that the parish had put a locked cover on my valve box! Left some drips and still had frozen pipes. No bursts, though.

If that was my only water cut off I would remove it. Lived in an old house before and that was the case.
