Jesus is also considered a messenger, which is above a prophet. If I remember correctly, Moses, Abraham and Adam are considered messengers as well. Jesus also plays a very important role in Islamic eschatology. He is a central character, along with the Mahdi.

False. The above post is correct. He is considered a messenger and is above the title of merely prophet.
