nless you board Taos is the only one really worth a shite. Angel Fire is good for boarders but a small mountain. I loved the challenge of Taos, their blues are everywhere elses blacks. At least that was my experience when i went.

Small local mountains are typically graded correctly. The resorts who attract lots of vacationers overrate their slopes to keep holiday newbies from breaking their necks.

I'm in Angel Fire right now actually and the snow is great. Taos is definitely a better/harder mountain but Angel Fire is not bad when they have snow. There are only 2 main lifts at Angel Fire, so if you come during a holiday weekend be prepared to wait in pretty long lift lines. There isn't anyone on the mountain today though so it's great.

Good to hear!

And I am aware that any skiing, except for maybe Taos from what I have read, will be crap compared to CO (which is some of the best in the world). FYI: I'll be going with a few friends. All mid 20's.

Santa Fe is intriguing for the fact that you'd get to see the town too, which I've heard is a really cool. Ruidoso seems like it'd be the easiest/cheapest. Not sure about Taos seeing that not everyone going on the trip would be very experienced skiers. I would like it, but something with more blue might have to be a criteria.

I think it's between Santa Fe, Angel Fire, and Ruidoso.
