Methane well. Gas station. Your thoughts?

Someone bought an almost empty lot and got a county permit to put a gas station on it.
The site already has a methane well. There were a few fires over the past 100 years. People used the methane to light the town street lights and to cook in restaurant.
You o and g baws. Does it make sense to put a filling station top of a methane site? Its capped but I read that some comes out of cracks in ground in summer.
Whole area is seismically active too.

Check for a state permit if its underground
