The whole reason for the run was to sweat out all the alcohol I consumed the past 48 hours.

So going when it's the hottest part of the day was on purpose.

Hi Bullfrog!

It was very interesting.

I know Pectus loves rocks...reason why I'm mentioning it again tonight.

He is a professional rock jock. I'm an amateur.

My LSU science electives were geology cause I've collected fossils since I was a kid. I still bring home rocks from places I go.

One Christmas, I got the kids a rock tumbler/polisher. Nobody knows it was really for me. Turned out to be so loud no one on the house could sleep when it was on.

In need to get a stealth model.

Pectus you would have been in rock heaven if you would have been where I was yesterday.

Meteor crater in AZ (near Winslow). Got to touch part of the meteorite that caused the crater.

AWESOME.

I've never been but passed by. My fam doesn't like stopping for stuff like that.

I'd love to lead a trip out there though!

Yeah they said lots of geologists come out there to study the site.

They have learned a lot of how impact craters are formed from the site. Best preserved impact crater on the planet.

You can't go to the bottom of it. I think the thing is on Indian Reservation land. Only way to see it is by paying to go to the museum that is along the top of the crater (They charge $18 admission), which gives you entrance to the rim of the crater down to the observation decks there. There is a trail along the top of the crater...but it doesn't go all the way around it. The crater is a mile across, 2.4 miles around and over 500 feet deep.

Exciting. I know a group that got to go to the bottom around 2010.

I'm sure they allow certain groups down there for studies. But for regular tourists...nope.

Me too! But I used to have to look in parking lots...gravel and such.

It's starting off really slow for me. Its not holding my attention.

I watched the leak of GoT early this week so now it's red blend and old FRIENDS re-runs.
