The "weirdos" are going to be the best students, and wind up being doctors, engineers and other professionals.
There will be a lot of smart students in the Honors college that do become doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc. But they aren't typically the weirdos.
Also, there are a lot of dumb weirdos that aren't in the honors college, so avoiding the honors college doesn't let you escape from them.
