Teachers getting the vaccine is smart for the economy. Far less of a chance that teachers will get sick and miss work forcing schools to close down and parents to take off of work. Elected officials though? That's a joke.

I’m with you on this one

What science are they following that says a healthy young teacher should get the vaccine over some like you with a heart condition?

No science. In fact multiple studies have shown that kids aren’t spreading it at school.

It’s political theater and pandering to a certain demographic.

This administration has demonstrated they don’t care about the economy and that this is about saving lives.

Well if you follow the science and want to save lives then the OP should get the vaccine before a teacher IMO.

Look at these fools complaining that they can't get the vaccine. Consider yourself lucky.

I never said I didn't think he shouldn't get the vaccine. Just thought it was silly to single out teachers since they're one of the few groups that makes sense to be vaccinated unlike smokers and elected officials.

I understand and you made a good point. I just don’t think this administration was thinking of the economy when they made this decision. Or if they were it would be the first time.

You can have my vaccine. I’m in healthcare. Good luck

They have to open it to everyone soon. The acceptance rate of frontline workers has been abysmal. LDH has facilities where 80% of eligible staff decline the vaccine. There was even a story today that they can’t even convince the military members to take it.

It’s hard to make sense of the nonstop news stories about shortages, demand, and grandma walking 6 miles for a vaccine followed by a story questioning why frontline facilities can’t find any staff willing to take it.

I can’t wait to see heads explode when the teachers become eligible and half of them decline like every other profession.
