I'm actually leaving in ten minutes for an interview. I told my boss I had an appointment. I think he knows, because I never miss work and I've left for a couple of interviews lately. He just had his pay cut in half and we don't know if out jobs are safe anymore so I don't think he really cares.
I'm still not going to come out an say it to him, but the office manager knows, and she has told me that I should leave if I get the chance.

If it's a personal situation and you're moving out of the area, it's at least understandable, notably when you give your notice that you're resigning.
