Currently in school for Process Technology.
We've been using this program called Simtronics a lot lately. It's interesting I suppose. Isn't really challenging because you're given step-by-step instructions on what to do. So as long as you follow the procedure, you're fine. You have to answer a few alarms here and there and that's basically it.

Have any of you used this program? Is it actually helpful?

Upon further research, they do have more to offer:

Do you know what kind of equipment, valves, and instruments it represents? How they work?
I'm guessing this is an operator job but it wouldn't hurt to read up on thermodynamics behind the process.

As far as the program, it looks good, I've never heard of it, but it looks similar to what Wonderware looks like so that's good.

After you get all that mastered read up on control loops and pid control.

Or you can just press ACK when an alarm goes off.

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback. You have to let the program sit there for a while and wait for the unit to get to where it needs to be and listen for any alarms. So I generally go on TD or read up on what I'm dealing with. We also cover a lot in my Equipment and Systems class
