In order to avoid this altogether, I tell restaurants I’m allergic to pickles all the time. They don’t mess around with your order when allergies are involved. (unless it’s that story from yesterday and peanuts)

It’s funny when a waitress/waiter calls me out and says “Are you allergic to cucumbers or vinegar?”. I just say “both”.
